Italy and Rome and the Colosseum

I visited Rome in 2011. I've been tree times (I would like the word trwice to exist ;)) in Italy, 2009, 2011 and 2014 (yes, this here), but only been to Rome in 2011. The photo is my 6 year old, at the time, daughter in the Colosseum. I liked it much more than I was expecting. I was expecting the confusion of a big city, and it has it, but it is so beautiful, people are so nice, that we forget all the confusion... besides you don't find ugly "new" buildings in the centre of Rome, just old buildings.
One of the problems I find in old capital cities in Europe are those really big buildings that just aren't beautiful in old Cities like most of the European capital cities... I love London, for instance, but what's the deal with those big skyscraper?! they are so ugly there!
